On Friday, Governor Tina Kotek announced that her Chief of Staff, Andrea Cooper, will be leaving her office effective on March 29th. Deputy Chief of Staff for Public Administration, Chris Warner, has agreed to serve as acting Chief of Staff during the transition period.
Kotek said, “I thank Andrew for bringing her experience to help lead my office during a whirlwind transition in the first year of my administration”. Kotek said, “We have all accomplished significant things for Oregonians, and she was instrumental in establishing a strong team of professionals. I wish her well in her future endeavors”.
Cooper started as Governor Kotek’s Chief of Staff in November 2022 after serving former Governor Kate Brown as her Deputy Chief of Staff for two years.
Cooper said, “It has been an honor and privilege to serve two Governors over the past three years. I am proud of the work we have accomplished”. Cooper said, “I am incredibly grateful to the 45,000 public employees who show up every day to serve our great state, and I want to thank my colleagues in the Governor’s Office, who’s commitment to tackling challenges big and small, continued ingenuity and work ethic are inspiring”.
