Roseburg Police cited a man Thursday night for an alleged prior hit and run incident.

An RPD report said 6:00 p.m. officers contacted the 29-year-old after learning he was the driver of the pickup that was involved an in accident on February 28th. The man admitted to the officers that he crashed into another truck in a parking lot in the 700 block of Southeast Douglas Avenue. The suspect said he wanted to get his crying child home and didn’t think about trying to contact the other driver.

He met with officers at the RPD office. The man was taken into custody without incident. The man was cited and released for failure to perform the duties of a driver.
