MOBILE HOME FIRE IN SUTHERLIN THURSDAY

A fire destroyed a mobile home in Sutherlin Thursday afternoon.

A release from the Sutherlin Fire Department said at approximately 3:45 p.m. crews from SFD, Oakland Rural Fire District, Fair Oaks Fire District, and Douglas County Fire District No. 2 were dispatched to a residential structure fire at Mobile Haven Mobile Home Park in 1400 block of West Central Avenue.

The first units arrived on the scene within five minutes to find a single-wide mobile home with heavy fire involvement to most of the structure and multiple exposures threatened. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and prevented two adjacent structures from catching fire.

On-scene resources included 5 engines, 1 ladder truck, 3 command vehicles, 1 brush engine and 2 ambulances with more than 20 personnel assisting at the scene. Umpqua Valley Ambulance, Sutherlin Police Department, Pacific Power and Avista Utilities also assisted.

Three civilians were evaluated on scene for minor smoke inhalation. There were no firefighter injuries. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
