SALEM MAN JAILED FOR DUII/WARRANT

A Salem man was jailed for driving under the influence of intoxicants- controlled substance and inhalant, by the Oregon State Police late Friday.

Information released by OSP on Tuesday, said at approximately 10:45 p.m. a sedan went off the roadway on Interstate 5 southbound near the Cox Road – Elk Creek exit in north county. It crashed into several Oregon Department of Transportation posting signs.

The 35-year-old driver claimed no injuries but reportedly showed signs of impairment from a controlled substance. He allegedly refused standard field sobriety tests and was placed into custody. The man was detained on both charges and held on $2,500 bail.
