LENTEN MEDITATIONS IN MUSIC STARTS FRIDAY

In the KQEN Cultural Spotlight:

With Lent underway, First Presbyterian Church is holding its Lenten Meditations in Music series on Friday’s now through March 29th.

The weekly time for gathering and contemplation takes place from 12:15 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. in the church’s sanctuary at 823 Southeast Lane Avenue in downtown Roseburg.

Musicians playing each week include:

February 16th: Umpqua Community College soloists Josey Bennett and Savaun Deng

February 23rd: Flute Quartet including Wandy Eddy, Michelle Juett, Steven Lounsbury and Pat Mehlhoff

*March 1st: Karen Gibbs on the piano

*March 8th: Celestial Tollers and Evensong, handbell choirs

*March 15th: Mark Angle-Hobson, on the organ and piano

*March 22nd: Bone Dawgs- a trombone quartet which includes Jeff Plummer, Trevor Thompson, Bob Carwithen and Dave Wolff

*March 29th: Traditional Good Friday readings and music with Reverend Vicky Brown and Katie Fieldman on the piano
