The preliminary investigation indicated that an eastbound sedan, operated by 38-year-old Carl Gregory Miller, veered into the westbound lane of travel and struck a commercial motor vehicle, driven by 34-year-old Grant Crossgrove of Sisters, head-on. The sedan burst into flames on impact. Motorists on the scene extricated Miller from the burning vehicle.
