Paving project affects Douglas County motorists

Douglas County Public Works has three separate paving and striping projects set to begin on Monday, May 8 that will affect motorists in Douglas County.

Crews will be working on sections of Highway 99 South and Dole Road in the Winston and Dillard areas.

One affected area will begin at the intersection of Highway 99 South and OR 42 in Winston and continue south on Highway 99 approximately two miles towards Dillard. The work will require crews to close more than 200 feet of the northbound lanes of Highway 99 for a week, starting Monday.

Included in that closure will be the left turn lane at the intersection with OR 42 in Winston.

The project will also include intermittent lane closures, brief delays, minimal night paving and flaggers.

Work will also be done on Highway 99 South starting at Dole Road south of Dillard and continuing south approximately two miles to the Interstate-5 southbound exit 112.

A third work area will include Dole Road from the intersection with Highway 99 to the I-5 Southbound exit 113.

Those projects will also include intermittent lane closures, brief delays, minimal night paving, and traffic control by flagging crews.

Douglas County Public Works will manage the paving and striping project, in partnership with contractor Knife River. The project was designed by i.e. Engineering.

The total estimated cost of the paving and striping project is $3.5 million, and comes from county category funding.
