WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT THROUGH 4:00 P.M. FRIDAY

March 10, 2023 4:00 a.m.

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect through 4:00 p.m. Friday for higher elevations in central Douglas County and its eastern foothills, Josephine and Jackson counties and eastern Curry County.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said 1 to 4 inches of snow is expected, with up to 1 foot in higher terrain. Winds are forecast to gust up to 45 miles per hour.

This includes the communities of Toketee Falls, Butte Falls and Prospect, along with portions of highways 62, 227 and 138.

Forecasters said travel could be difficult and could impact the morning commute. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Wet, heavy snow on tree branches combined with gusty winds could cause broken tree limbs. In addition, lowering temperatures and snowfall on wet roads could result in a layer of ice formation, leading to additional hazardous road conditions.
