A Roseburg man has been jailed in Salem for an alleged local assault.

A Roseburg Police report said Friday morning at about 9:30 a.m. the 29-year old fled another incident in which he allegedly assaulted a female victim then took her vehicle from the 500 block of West Umpqua Street.

Oregon State Police spotted the SUV near Albany and arrested the 29-year old following a pursuit and a crash. The suspect was treated at Salem Hospital under guard of the OSP. An arrest warrant was obtained and Douglas County Community Corrections filed a detention warrant with the Marion County Jail. The man was jailed after being released from the hospital.

The victim was treated at CHI Mercy Medical Center for her injuries and then was released.
