February 8, 2023 3:30 a.m.

Friends of the Roseburg Public Library are preparing for their Spring Book Sale in March.

A City of Roseburg release said the bargain book sale will be held in the library’s Ford Room March 2nd through 4th. Hours are 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. respectively.

Books for every age and nearly every interest will be available. That includes fiction, science fiction, mysteries and nonfiction including history, gardening and cookbooks. DVD’s, children’s books and young adult fiction will also be offered.

Most books have been donated or withdrawn from the library collection, so may be slightly warn or contain library markings.

The sale will feature a selection of art books and new books published in the last three years for $5 each. Children’s books and mass-market paperback books are 25 cents. All other books will be 50 cents. In addition, the Friend’s permanent bookstore inside the library has free magazines and a wide range of books for up to 50 cents each. All bargain books, including those in the permanent store, will be 25 cents on Saturday.

The Friends of the library continues to accept donations of gently used books, DVDs and audiobooks on CD at the front desk during library hours. Magazines published in the last three years are also accepted.

Proceeds benefit the library’s collections, programs and projects. Those interested in helping with the book sale, or who want more information, can call the library at 492-7050.
