DANGEROUS SUSPECT WANTED FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER, STILL ON THE RUN

January 29, 2023 1:40 p.m.

A man described by law enforcement as an “extremely dangerous suspect” wanted for attempted murder, kidnapping and assault, remains on the run.

Lieutenant Jeff Hattersley of the Grants Pass Police Department said detectives and fugitive apprehension teams are continuing to follow investigative leads as they work to locate 36-year old Benjamin Foster.

Last Tuesday night, GPPD officers responded to a residence shortly before 7:00 p.m. regarding an assault. They found a female victim who had been bound and severely beaten into unconsciousness. She remains in critical condition.

Hattersley said it is possible that Benjamin Foster may attempt to change his appearance by shaving his beard and hair, or by changing his hair color. GPPD is asking the public to pay particular attention to Foster’s facial structure and eyes, since those features are very difficult to change.

Hattersley said tips regarding sightings of Benjamin Foster continue to flood into the department and he is confident the man will soon be captured with the assistance of a concerned citizen. The case is receiving media coverage from across the nation.

Foster’s vehicle was located Thursday night in the Wolf Creek area but he evaded capture. 68-year old Tina Jones of Wolf Creek was jailed for hindering prosecution.
