The nonprofit Friends of Umpqua Valley Police K9 Programs are hosting their seventh “K9s in the Grapevines” event, at Melrose Vineyards on Saturday September 17th at 4:00 p.m.

It will feature multi-agency teams that will talk about their programs, answer questions, provide opportunities to meet the canines up close and give a demonstration. For some K9 teams, this will be their first time appearing at the Grapevine event.

Agencies that are part of the nonprofit program include the Roseburg Police Department, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Winston Police Department, Douglas Interagency Narcotics team and the Reedsport Police Department.

Due to limited seating, purchasing tickets in advance is encouraged. Those interested can go to www.eventbrite.com or call and leave a message at 492-6838. The evening will include auction items, a tri-tip dinner, dessert and all the K9 festivities.
