Nighttime paving to resurface a three-quarter of a mile stretch of Northeast Stephens Street is getting started Tuesday night.

A City of Roseburg release said a contractor will perform the work from just north of Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard to Northeast Garden Valley Boulevard. The project will take place between 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday and again from Sunday September 11th through Thursday September 15th.

Drivers should expect minor delays as Stephens Street will be narrowed to one lane of travel in both the north and southbound directions during hours the work is taking place. Some side streets and driveways will be temporarily closed for up to an hour or two.

The release said the contractor will perform an asphalt grind inlay, which involves grinding up several inches of existing asphalt and replacing that with new asphalt.
