The Elkton Community Education Center has Fort Umpqua Days this weekend.

Events will take place throughout both Saturday and Sunday.

Visitors can see ECEC’s replica of historic Fort Umpqua where history reenactors and blacksmiths portray life in the mid-1800s. Adults can press cider or try their hand at grinding corn. Kids can participate in a voyageur expedition, obstacle course, live animal exhibits and history-themed crafts.

The festival spreads throughout ECEC’s grounds and features a pancake breakfast, BBQ booth, blackberry-themed food truck, live music, wine garden, tours of the Butterfly Pavilion and a wide selection of artisan booths.

The annual Echoes of The Umpqua Pageant will take place Saturday and Sunday evening at 5:00 p.m. This year’s theme is “A Year in the Life”. Local actors and musicians will portray different activities that would have occupied Fort staff and settlers each season of the year.
