A motorcyclist was hospitalized after going off the roadway Saturday night.

An Oregon State Police report said just before 11:30 p.m. the eastbound operator left Highway 138E, two miles west of Steamboat Inn, and collided with a rocky hill. The 64-year old was discovered by an EMT that was passing by and found him in critical condition, so much so that CPR was initiated. The man was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center before being transferred to PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend in Springfield. He was listed in fair condition at last check, according to a hospital spokesperson. His motorcycle was located and taken to a tow yard.
