Staff with the Douglas County Parks Department has temporarily closed the Day Use Area and campsites 1-6 at Amacher County Park and Campground, in the 5700 block of Northeast Stephens Street.

The closure is in order to repair a broken water main. That closure also eliminates access to the overflow parking in that area for park patrons, boaters and those wishing to float the river.

The rest of the park, including the boat ramp, parking east of the railroad trestle and the remaining campsites remain open. There is no estimated date for reopening the area.

Parks staff will provide more information as it becomes available.
