On Friday, staff with the Douglas Forest Protective Association increased the Industrial Fire Precaution Level to IFPL II on all private, county, state, Bureau of Land Management and Bureau of Indian Affairs lands that are protected by DFPA.

During IFPL II, these industrial activities are prohibited between 1:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.:

*The use of power saws, except at loading sites

*Feller-bunchers with rotary head saws

*Cable Yarding

*Blasting

*Cutting, grinding, or welding of metal

In addition, a fire watch of at least two hours is required during IFPL II, once work has been completed for the day. Some private landowners or public land management agencies may require a longer fire watch on the lands they own and manage.
