The U.S. Post Office in Tiller will remain open.

Recently a sign at the facility said the lease for the building was ending and residents would soon have to drive to Days Creek to pick up their mail.

Lecia Hall, Strategic Communication Specialist for the U.S. Postal Service told News Radio News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that “local personnel had insufficient and incorrect information”. Hall said once the error was realized and relayed, the sign was removed and operations resumed.

Hall said the Tiller Post Office is not closing or moving to another location. She said their commitment “…is to continue serving the community uninterrupted”.

Following concerns from listeners, KQEN had been looking into the situation, as had the offices of U.S. Senator Ron Wyden and Congressman Peter DeFazio.
