Tuesday evening at approximately 9:30 p.m. crews from the Douglas Forest Protective Association, and fire departments in Sutherlin, Oakland and Fair Oaks responded to an estimated one quarter of an acre grass and brush fire in the 900 block of Rolling Ridge Road in Oakland.

Public Information Officer Rachael Pope of DFPA said by the time their crews arrived, the other departments had successfully contained and suppressed the fire. DFPA assisted with mop-up procedures. The fire was found to be human caused and is currently under investigation.

Staff with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the Sutherlin Police Department assisted at the scene.
