Del Taco’s Roseburg location was destroyed in an overnight fire early Saturday.

Fire Marshal Brian Jewell of the Roseburg Fire Department said the blaze was reported just after 1:25 a.m. Dispatch received several calls regarding smoke showing from the roof of the commercial structure in the 2400 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway.

Jewell said firefighters arrived on the scene to find a significant amount of grey smoke coming from the soffits of the roof. Firefighters worked throughout the night utilizing numerous engines and two ladder trucks to bring the fire under control. Jewell said crews worked tirelessly to complete extensive overhaul into the early morning hours. During the fire, a large section of Stewart Parkway was closed for safety reasons.

On Monday, Jewell told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that the cause of the fire remains under investigation. The structure suffered substantial damage and is estimated to be a total loss. No firefighter or civilian injuries were reported.

Jewell said numerous firefighters from both RFD and Douglas County Fire District No. 2 assisted with the firefighting operations. Other agencies assisting included Umpqua Valley Ambulance, Roseburg Police Department, Pacific Power and Avista Utilities.
