Wednesday was the hottest day of the year so far for both Roseburg and Medford.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said the mercury reached 88 degrees at the Roseburg Regional Airport and 92 degrees in Medford. Those were not record highs for the date.

Temperatures are slated to drop a few degrees Thursday, topping out at 81 degrees in Roseburg and 87 degrees in Medford. It is expected to heat back up for the weekend, getting to 94 degrees in Roseburg Saturday and 99 degrees on Sunday. Medford is forecast to reach the triple digits for the weekend, with highs of 100 degrees on Saturday and 103 degrees on Sunday expected.
