At their meeting Monday, the Winston City Council declared a vacancy for city councilor Ward 1.

A release said pursuant to their City Charter, the position must be filled within the next sixty days. The seat was occupied by Lenny Huiras, who will be moving out of the area. The term expires at the end of 2024. Residents interested in applying must have lived in Ward 1 for at least twelve months prior to the date of appointment.
