The City of Winston has announced that there will be a race for mayor and a race for councilor from each ward on the November General Election ballot.

Candidates can go to www.winstoncity.org and click on the government tab for all the information needed. Positions and current occupants include:

*Mayor – a two-year term occupied by David Scott Rutter

*Councilor Ward 1 – a four-year term, held by Dolores White

*Councilor Ward II – a four-year term occupied by Alesha Sullivan

Finance Clerk Cindy Sarti said it is important that candidate hopefuls make an appointment with the city recorder prior to gathering signatures for their petitions. All new terms begin January 3, 2023.
