6/13/2022 10:20 a.m.

The Douglas County Public Works Department, and contractor Pave Northwest, Inc., are planning to slurry seal several streets in Winchester Bay this week.

Information released from DC Public Works on Friday said the work is scheduled to run along Beach Blvd, and adjacent streets, beginning Tuesday and is expected to be completed by Thursday, June 23rd.

The slurry seal program is the application of a rubberized hot asphalt sealant to the surface of streets and roads as preventative maintenance to prolong the life of the road surface.

Slurry seal work is typically performed between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. depending on weather and the availability of materials.

During the process, involved streets will be closed to vehicle traffic and on-street parking.

“No Parking” signs are placed in the impacted areas for 48-hours prior to the work commencing.

Drivers traveling in the area should expect delays of up to 20-minutes, and take alternate routes wherever available.

Roads impacted by the work include 3rd Street, 4th Street, 6th Street, 7th Street, 8th Street, Beach Blvd West, Beach Blvd East, Clearlake Ave., and Broadway Ave.
