Roseburg Police jailed a man for alleged misuse of 911 on Monday.

An RPD report said the 24-year old called 911 five times within a twenty-minute window. The suspect told dispatchers he was scared and wanted them to stay on the line with him until an officer met him somewhere safe. The man claimed people were being kidnapped and he thought he was going to be hit by a car, even though he was on the sidewalk, in the 300 block of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard.

The suspect continued to call 911 after dispatchers told him not to. The report said the man was extremely high and was transported to corrections at about 9:00 p.m. Bail was set at $3,500.
