Roseburg Police charged a man following a reported hit and run incident on Monday.

An RPD report said just after 7:30 p.m. witnesses said a pickup had crashed into the back of a passenger vehicle and driven away, near the corner of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard and Northwest Stewart Parkway. Witnesses unanimously reported that the pickup driver was the aggressor during a long road rage incident.

Officers contacted the suspect, 37-year old Justin Roberts later as he was driving away from his residence in the damaged pickup. The report said during officer’s contact, Roberts was clearly intoxicated, and admitted to drinking two beers. He was taken into custody and taken to jail where he reportedly refused to provide a breath sample.

Roberts was charged with failure to perform the duties of a driver, DUII-alcohol, and two counts of recklessly endangering another. He was released from custody on Tuesday.
