CITY EXTENDS PLANNING COMMISSION APPLICATION PERIOD

May 18, 2022 10:00 a.m.

The City of Roseburg is extending the application period for people interested in serving on the Roseburg Planning Commission.

A release said the current vacancy must be filled by someone who lives within the city after Planning Commission Chair Ronald Sperry resigned because he moved outside the city limits. Applications are due by 5:00 p.m. June 17th.

Commissioners serve four-year terms unless they’re filling a vacant unexpired term. The person appointed to fill this vacancy would serve until December 30, 2024.

The Planning Commission considers long-and-short range land-use development issues within the city and urban growth boundary. Decisions are made based on City Land Use and Development Regulations.

Interviews of candidates are tentatively scheduled to take place before the 7:00 p.m. City Council meeting on Monday June 27th. Qualified applicants will be contacted to set up interviews.
