Over twenty-one percent of local registered voters have cast a ballot for the May Primary Election, as of late Friday.
Douglas County Clerk Daniel Loomis said the 18,845 ballots that have been received lags nearly five and a half percent behind the participation rate for the same point in the 2020 primary.
Ballots can be returned to one of the fifteen drop box sites located around the county. A list of sites is linked: https://douglascounty-oregon.us/179/Official-Drop-Site-Locations
Ballots must be turned in by Tuesday May 17th or in the mail with a postmark of that date or earlier, in order to be counted.
