The City of Roseburg Budget Committee recommended that the Roseburg City Council approve the city’s budget for the 2022/2023 fiscal year, at its meeting Tuesday night. That budget is slated to be just over $100.4 million.

The committee recommended that the council adopt property taxes for the upcoming fiscal year at the rate of nearly $8.50 per $1,000 of assessed value for the permanent rate tax levy.

The committee also recommended that the Urban Renewal Agency Board adopt that agency’s budget in the amount of just under $2,240,000.

The votes followed staff presentations for each area.

The budget committee meeting lasted just over three and a half hours. The council will formally adopt the proposals at their first June meeting.
