Nine percent of local registered voters have turned their ballot in for the May Primary Election, as of late Friday.

Douglas County Clerk Daniel Loomis said the 7,918 ballots that have been received lags nearly three percent behind the participation rate for the same point in the 2020 primary.

Loomis said voters can use one of the official ballot-drop sites to return ballots. There are fifteen drop sites, with eight of them being drive-up locations.  To find a site, go to: https://douglascounty-oregon.us/179/Official-Drop-Site-Locations

Ballots must be cast by Tuesday May 17th.
