The Roseburg Community Development Department is now taking applications for spring 2022 tourism grants.
A City release said the program is funded through the Roseburg transient lodging tax collected inside the city. The Economic Development Commission will review all applications and vote on submissions at its July 12th meeting.
Registered businesses, registered 501(c)(3) organizations, other 501(c) tax-exempt organizations and governmental entities can apply online through June 17th, for grants to help fund tourism promotion and tourism-related projects in the Roseburg area that will draw visitors to the city.
The release said applications for grants of up to $5,000 will be considered. Applications for larger amounts must also be considered by the Roseburg City Council.
Grants are typically awarded for such things as advertising, publicizing, or distributing information to market special events and festivals designed to attract tourists, or welcome them at tourism-related facilities; or capital improvement projects that have a substantial purpose of supporting tourism or accommodating tourism activities.
