FEEDING UMPQUA CHEESE AND THANK YOU

Feeding Umpqua is beginning the second year of its annual fundraiser called Cheese and Thank You.

Director Sarah McGregor said seven restaurants in the Umpqua Valley are offering their unique take on an old favorite – grilled cheese. McGregor said this month each sale of a grilled cheese item from any of those participating locations will result in $2 being donated to Feeding Umpqua, which is a program of the United Community Action Network.

To sweeten the deal for hungry restaurant goers, Feeding Umpqua will also offer several chances to win prizes. Passports can be picked up from any of the locations involved. Purchasing four grilled cheese items from any of the participating restaurants and getting the card filled out, will enter customers into a drawing for a $150 Sherm’s gift certificate.

McGregor said customers can also take a picture of their item or a selfie, post it to Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #CheeseandThankYou22, and be entered into another drawing for prizes.

    • Apple Pie Grilled Cheese – Apples glazed in brown sugar, cinnamon & rum with sharp cheddar cheese on battered Texas toast. Top dusted with cinnamon & sugar.
    • Yumm Grilled Cheese – Swiss, Muenster, Cheddar, Avocado, & tomato on grilled garlic bread.
  • Nellie’s Deli
    • Sunrise Briez (Breeze) Grilled Cheese – House sub roll grilled with brie, green apple, orange marmalade, and almonds. Bacon optional.
  • Old Soul Pizza
    • Smoky Mac – 4 cheese pizza with queso, Macaroni, cheddar brats and a smoky chipotle drizzle.
  • Salud Food Truck
    • Four Queso Quesadilla – A Cheese lovers dream with pepper jack, cheddar, swiss cheese, and cotija. Topped with our signature creama sauce.
  • SOCO Coffee Company
    • SOCO Sweet & Spicy Grilled Cheese – Grilled sourdough bread with jalapeno jam, garlic butter, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, avocado, bacon and roasted tomato.
