TWO PEOPLE TAKEN TO HOSPITAL FOLLOWING SINGLE VEHICLE WRECK

Two people were taken to the hospital following a single vehicle wreck on Wednesday.

A report from Oregon State Police said at about 3:45 p.m. an SUV was traveling east on Highway 42 in the Camas Valley area. When the roadway turned a corner, the vehicle continued straight. The SUV struck an earth bank that runs along the roadway. The vehicle rolled and came to rest on the driver’s side. The passenger was injured. The driver was entrapped and needed extrication. Both were taken to CHI Mercy Medical Center for treatment. The driver is in serious condition at last check according to a hospital spokesperson, while the passenger was treated and released.

The report said medical personnel allegedly located a small bag of methamphetamine in the passenger’s belongings prior to transport. The meth and bag weighed .8 gram. The driver and passenger were both cited.

The vehicle had to be towed from the accident scene.
