BLM RESCINDS TEMPORARY CLOSURE FOR HOLIDAY FARM FIRE

April 22, 2022 11:00 a.m.

The Bureau of Land Management has lifted the temporary closure that has been in place for public lands in and near the Holiday Farm Fire, in Lane County.

A BLM release said some specific areas remain closed while crews continue with infrastructure repair and hazard tree removal along roads. Initially these areas will include the gravel portions of Goodpasture Road and Mt. Hagen Road, located east of Springfield within the Holiday Farm footprint.

The release said visitors should use extra caution within the burned areas. Fire-weakened trees and limbs that may fall, loose rock, ash and dust, and unstable soils continue to create hazardous conditions. Burned areas may also be more fragile and susceptible to damage. All laws protecting public lands and resources from damage and unauthorized use remain in place; violators can be prosecuted and convictions can lead to fines or imprisonment, according to the BLM.
