In recognition of National Volunteer Week, which is happening through Friday, the Roseburg VA Health Care System is honoring its volunteers who support local veterans.

Acting Public Affairs Officer Traci Palmer said volunteers have been valued partners at the VA for more than 75 years and have provided countless hours of support to veterans. Palmer said in the fiscal year 2021, around 100 volunteers at the Roseburg VA contributed 21,000 hours towards caring for veterans. Their volunteerism and donations were valued at approximately $592,000 in person-hours.

Roseburg VA Director Keith Allen said it is good to have volunteers back.
