On Thursday, Congressman Peter DeFazio joined President Joe Biden and his Congressional colleagues in Portland to promote the Infrastructure Law.

A release said as Chair of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, DeFazio worked closely with President Biden, House Democrats and a bipartisan group of senators to deliver $550 billion in new investments to improve the nation’s infrastructure.

DeFazio said, “Thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, we will strengthen our global competitiveness, create good-paying jobs for all communities and make our planet more resilient and livable”. DeFazio said he was honored to join President Biden and his colleagues in Congress to discuss how these investments will boost the economy, enhance safety, and tackle the climate crisis. DeFazio said the country faces significant challenges, but with the Infrastructure Law, there is an opportunity to “…level the playing field and finally reward work in this country”.
