A Roseburg man was jailed for possession of a stolen vehicle early Monday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at about 1:45 a.m. deputy stopped a sedan that was listed as stolen along Interstate Five northbound near the Boomer Hill Road interchange. The driver claimed he was driving the car for a friend, but the suspect didn’t know his friends name. The man also had a warrant.

The suspect was taken into custody. After arraignment, bail was set at $5,000. An officer with Myrtle Creek Police stayed with the vehicle until the owner could come and pick it up.
