WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY STARTS MONDAY AFTERNOON

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect beginning at 4:00 p.m. Monday for the south- central Oregon Cascades including Crater Lake and Diamond Lake, above 4,500 feet.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said total snow accumulations of four to eight inches are expected with ten to fourteen inches above the 5,500 feet. Winds are slated to gust as high as forty miles per hour in exposed areas.

Drivers should plan on slippery road conditions. Up to one inch of snow per hour is expected Monday evening. Periods of heavy snow combined with gusty winds may result in near white out conditions at times.

The Advisory continues through midnight Monday.
