FREEZE WARNING MAINLY FOR OUTLYING AREAS

April 14, 2022 3:10 p.m.

A Freeze Warning is in effect from 1:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Friday for parts of central Douglas County.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said sub-freezing temperatures between 26 and 32 degrees are expected. The Advisory said this will mainly be for outlying areas including Sutherlin, Green, Myrtle Creek, Camas Valley, Tri-City, Riddle and Canyonville.

Forecasters said frost and freezing conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. The National Weather Service said this is a cold air mass, so wind machines will have little additional benefit.
