The City of Roseburg is taking applications to fill a city council position after Councilor Alison Eggers resigned on Monday.

A City release said Eggers, who chaired the Parks and Recreation Commission, resigned because she is moving to Ruston, Washington. She represented Ward 1 in northeastern Roseburg for more than seven years after being elected in 2014. Candidates to fill her seat must live in Ward 1. Online applications are due by 5:00 p.m. on Friday April 29th. Application forms can be turned in at City Hall or emailed to: info@cityofroseburg.org. Interviews will be held during an upcoming council meeting and the person appointed will fill the seat until the end of this year, when Egger’s term is set to expire. The seat will be up for election in November.
