ROSEBURG FIRE DEPARTMENT CONDUCTING FIRE TRAINING AT FORMER LOGGER’S LOCATION

April 4, 2022 10:20 a.m.

The City of Roseburg Fire Department, in conjunction with Douglas County Fire District #2, is conducting training exercises at the site of the former Logger’s Pizza, at 2060 Northwest Stewart Parkway, through April 15th.

Staff Assistant Amy Rice said the location is currently vacant. Training will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day.

Rice said the training opportunity provides the ability to not only train together, but also to improve the effectiveness of interoperability between multiple agencies in addition to continuing the development of their firefighting skills.

A release said training objectives include command and control procedures for multi-unit incident response, fire ground tactics, victim search and rescue and firefighter survival.

Rice said the Roseburg Fire Department would like to thank the property owners of Roseburg Market Place for providing the property to make this training opportunity possible.
