A passenger was hospitalized following a two-vehicle wreck on Saturday.

An Oregon State Police report said just before 9:00 a.m. the operator of a sedan lost control of her vehicle when an SUV came into her lane of travel and forced her off the roadway on Interstate Five northbound, about a mile north of the Winchester exit. The first vehicle exited the left shoulder of the roadway, spun and came to rest after striking the center concrete barrier.

The operator of the SUV said she didn’t see the first vehicle while she was changing lanes. A passenger in the vehicle hit was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center for treatment of what appeared to be minor injuries. The first vehicle sustained heavy damage and had to be towed from the scene.

The SUV driver was issued a warning for making an unsafe lane change.
