A Myrtle Creek man has been jailed, accused of kidnapping and a number of other charges.

Detective Kevin Taggert of the Myrtle Creek Police Department said Thursday night just after 10:00 p.m. officers responded to a report that a female subject was being held against her will. Taggert said during the investigation, officers had to force entry into an apartment in the 1100 block of Simpson Lane. 28-year old Robert Brown was found hiding in a bathroom closet.

Taggart said Brown was transported to the Douglas County Jail. He was initially charged with second-degree kidnapping, menacing and harassment. Additional charges were added. Bail is now at over $1.5 million.

Taggart said no additional information is being released at this time as the investigation continues.
