Crews with the Douglas Forest Protective Association dealt with a small fire in north Douglas County on Wednesday.
Public Information Officer Rachael Pope said just after 9:30 a.m. firefighters responded to a smoke investigation in the Tom Folley Drainage, on Bureau of Land Management property. Pope said when crews arrived, the Tom Folley Fire was estimated to be just over a third of an acre and was burning in a previously logged unit. Firefighters were able to stop the forward spread and began mop up just before 12:30 p.m. Pope said the fire was fully contained by around 3:00 p.m.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
