An unauthorized burn was extinguished by the Roseburg Fire Department early Monday.

Fire Marshal Brian Jewell said at about 2:50 a.m. firefighters responded to the incident in the 1900 block of Southeast Stephens. Jewell said crews found that a large pile of debris from a recent building demolition had been lit on fire and abandoned. The fire was put out and firefighters left the scene.
