GLIDE MAN DETAINED AFTER REPORTED PURSUIT

A Glide man was detained after a reported pursuit on Friday.

A report from Roseburg Police said just after 10:00 p.m. a pickup was called in as a possible DUII on Diamond Lake Boulevard. It was stopped by an RPD officer. Other officers responded to assist, but the vehicle fled. It continued east on Buckhorn Road at reasonable speeds while multiple officers deployed spike strips at various intersections.

The report said all four of the pickup’s tires eventually disintegrated, but the suspect drove on bare wheels to his driveway in Glide. Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office deployed a taser to get 38-year Caleb Stokes out of the cab and into custody.

Stokes was charged with a felony count of eluding a police officer, resisting arrest. reckless driving, and for DUII. Bail was set at $72,500.
