Douglas County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a disturbance Tuesday afternoon and encountered a Roseburg man reportedly in a rage, wielding a bow and arrow.

DCSO says Jason Dewbre was located outside a residence in the 800 block of Melton Road, southeast of Roseburg, just before 4 p.m.

Dewbre allegedly advanced towards deputies when they approached him upon arrival. A DCSO report says deputies were able to calm Dewbre down and eventually took him into custody.

An investigation reportedly revealed that Dewbre had been walking around hitting things and had damaged the front door of a nearby residence. Dewbre had also allegedly been in possession of a shotgun and had been shooting it into the ground, according to DCSO.

Deputies report they found two shotgun slugs were recovered during a pat down search and the shotgun was located in the residence.

Dewbre was lodged in the Douglas County jail on charges of second-degree criminal mischief and being a felon in possession of a firearm. He’s currently being held on $56,250 bail.
