DINT FINDS SIX POUNDS OF METHAMPHETAMINE, ARREST TWO

On Thursday, detectives with the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team allegedly found almost six pounds of suspected methamphetamine in a vehicle in Canyonville, and arrested two men.

Lieutenant Rick McArthur called the seizure “a very large amount”.

McArthur said detectives contacted the suspects in a vehicle in the parking lot of a business in the 100 block of Gazely Bridge Road. The men were detained in relation to an ongoing investigation. Drug detection K9 Trapper from the Roseburg Police Department sniffed around the vehicle and alerted to the presence of narcotics coming from inside.

40-year old Luis Pancheco-Lopez of Medford and 22-year old Daniel Velarde-Medrano of Huntington Park, California were both charged with unlawful possession and delivery of meth. Bail was set at $500,000 for each suspect.
