Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a man following a reported burglary incident early Friday.

A DCSO report said at 5:15 a.m. a resident of the 700 block of North Bank Road called in a burglary in progress at a shop next to their house. Units from multiple agencies responded and were unable to locate the suspect. About an hour later, the man, later identified as 22-year old Isiah Arrant, resurfaced in the area of the Whitlog Trailer Property on Old Highway 99 North.

The report said a group of employees chased Arrant off the property, across the railroad tracks, and onto the backside of an address on Blacktail Lane. The suspect ran across two more properties until a deputy blocked his escaped and challenged him. Arrant complied and was taken into custody.

The report said Arrant admitted to trying to break into the shop. Charges included attempted burglary, second-degree criminal mischief, and four counts of second-degree criminal trespass. Additional charges may be added. Bail was initially set at $10,000.
