A candidate for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Democrat Ron Wyden, will be in Roseburg on Friday morning.

Lane County businessman Darin Harbick grew up on the banks of the McKenzie River and began working in the grocery store industry while in  high school. He and his wife later purchased a store in Rainbow, northeast of Eugene. They went on to build a nearby restaurant and bought a motel as well. The couple has since purchased other businesses and operate a residential treatment facility.

Harbick served for 14 years on the board of directors for the McKenzie School District and was also on the Travel Lane County Board for three years. He is one of seven Republicans vying for the party’s nomination to take on Wyden.

Harbick will appear at a meet and greet event at the Parrot House on Southeast Stephens starting at 8:30 a.m.
